AASL Announces 2026 Best Digital Tools for Teaching & Learning

CHICAGO – The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) has released its annual list of Best Digital Tools for Teaching & Learning. The Best Digital Tools provide opportunities for school librarians to enhance learning, engage learners, and collaborate with educators. The list can be found at https://www.ala.org/aasl/awards/best.

AASL’s Best Digital Tools list recognizes digital resources that support teaching, learning, and student engagement in K–12 education. Selected by a committee of AASL member school library professionals, the annual list highlights innovative tools that meet the evolving needs of students, educators, and school libraries. The recognized tools are evaluated for educational value, accessibility, ease of use, and their ability to enhance learning experiences across diverse school communities.

“This year’s recipients demonstrate how high-quality digital tools can foster creativity, inquiry, literacy, and college and career readiness for students of all ages,” said Committee Chair Shannon Gile. “From digital storytelling and financial literacy to research databases and multilingual reading platforms, these tools reflect the evolving needs of today’s learners and educators.”
