AASL Opens Call for School Library Research Editorial Board Members
CHICAGO – The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) seeks a dynamic group of school library practitioners, educators, and researchers to serve on the School Library Research (SLR) Editorial Board. School Library Research advances the profession by publishing high-quality original research on the management, implementation, and evaluation of school libraries. For more information on editorial board responsibilities and the application, visit engage.aasl.org/slr.
“Participating on the School Library Research Editorial Board offers a unique opportunity to help shape the future of our profession through scholarship and inquiry,” said Dr. April Dawkins, AASL president-elect. “Editorial Board members amplify the voices of researchers and practitioners whose work deepens our understanding of effective school libraries. By championing rigorous, relevant research, they ensure that school librarians are equipped with the knowledge and insights needed to support learners and lead within their communities. I encourage dedicated professionals who are passionate about advancing school library research to apply and be part of this impactful work.”
The School Library Research Editorial Board works under the direction of the SLR co-editors to review manuscripts in a timely fashion and ensure the research journal is relevant, current, and meets the needs of AASL’s diverse membership. They are expected to offer insights and suggestions on additional research areas for coverage, to actively encourage high-quality manuscript submissions from the field, and to promote the content and value of SLR.
Applications must be received by 11:59 p.m. on May 15.
