AASL Opens Call for Knowledge Quest Editorial Board Members and Bloggers
CHICAGO – The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) is calling for passionate and engaged school library professionals to contribute to Knowledge Quest (KQ), the association’s professional journal. AASL seeks members to serve on the KQ Editorial Board and bloggers to contribute to the KQ website. Knowledge Quest moves the profession forward by publishing articles and blogs that address the integration of theory and practice in school librarianship along with new developments in education, learning theory, and relevant disciplines.
“Serving on the Knowledge Quest (KQ) Editorial Board is a meaningful opportunity to help shape the direction of school librarianship,” said AASL President-Elect April Dawkins. “As AASL celebrates its 75th anniversary, this work is especially significant, honoring our legacy while helping define the future of the profession. Editorial board members play a vital role in curating timely, relevant content that reflects emerging trends and the evolving needs of the field. As one of the few journals dedicated exclusively to school libraries, Knowledge Quest offers critical insights and practical guidance for practitioners. This volunteer role is ideal for professionals eager to contribute their expertise and help inform the future of the field.”
The Knowledge Quest Editorial Board works under the direction of the chair and staff editor to ensure the journal’s features, articles, content experts, and authors are relevant, current, and meet the needs of AASL’s diverse membership and the school library profession. Members of the editorial board identify the focus of feature articles and topics for related articles for each issue, along with potential content experts and authors. Members also serve as liaisons to content expert(s) to help direct, shape, and review the editorial content.
KQ bloggers contribute posts focused on school librarianship, covering topics such as best practices, emerging trends, leadership, and technology integration. Posts provide insights into improving library programs, supporting student learning, and promoting the role of school librarians. The blog serves as a platform for professionals to share experiences, research, and innovative ideas.
