Ken Haycock Award for Promoting Librarianship now accepting nominations
CHICAGO - Nominations are now open for the Ken Haycock Award for Promoting Librarianship.This award is presented to an individual that contributed significantly to the general public’s recognition and appreciation of librarianship, outside the usual awareness of activities expected of a professional. These skills engender admiration for the profession as critical to the 21st Century, attract broad attention, and perhaps inspire career choices by others.
The Ken Haycock Award for Promoting Librarianship is sponsored by Ken Haycock. The winner receives a $1,000 and a framed citation of achievement that is given at the ALA Awards Ceremony at the 2026 ALA's Annual Conference, in Chicago.
To nominate please complete the online application. The nominations must be accompanied by a specific statement of qualifications of the nominee. Supporting evidence or testimonials are welcome.
