Core Webinar: Leadership Skills Through Professional Service

CHICAGO—Join Core for the webinar "Leadership Skills Through Professional Service" on January 21, 2026, at 1 p.m. CT. Service work or professional service, whether through professional associations, conference planning, editorial boards, or task forces, offers librarians a pathway to developing leadership skills outside their immediate workplace. These roles provide opportunities for gaining competencies in such areas as project management, strategic decision-making, budgeting, and team coordination. Developing these skills can be important to one’s personal professional development, and may even pave the way for a future move into leadership positions at work.
