CHICAGO – The American Library Association invites the community to celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month and discover how a single card can open the door to endless opportunities.

This year’s theme, “One Card, Endless Possibilities,” is a reminder that libraries are for everyone—no matter your age, background or goals. Whether diving into a new hobby, searching for the next great read, brushing up on tech skills, or helping your child succeed in school, it all starts with a library card.

“Every September as we celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month, we are reminded about endless opportunities and discoveries that await us in the library,” ALA President Sam Helmick said.” Getting a library card and using libraries resources, whether digitally or in person, is one of the ways we can all show up for our libraries.”

From free classes and job resources to homework help, streaming media, and cultural events, today’s libraries connect communities to information, inspiration, and each other.

Social media graphics, a sample press release, and a proclamation are available in both English and Spanish on the ALA website.  A poster, bookmarks, and digital poster file are available at the ALA Store.
