All Nations LibGuide added to the ALA Library Resource Page
CHICAGO – The American Library Association (ALA) is pleased to share the All Nations LibGuide is now available on the ALA Library Resource page. The guide highlights the impact of Indigenous Librarianship and the importance of serving the library and information needs of Indigenous and Native peoples.
Users will find a collection of resources that are primarily Indigenous-centric and include scholarly works from allies and non-Native librarians in tribal and mainstream libraries.
One of the resources available in the guide is the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives Toolkit and Resource Guide. The toolkit will assist libraries in establishing a standard protocol for the community in the event of a missing person.
The All Nations Guide and toolkit were part of 2024-2025 ALA President Cindy Hohl’s presidential initiatives.
"Librarians will continue to ensure that everyone has equal access to information. It is one of the tenets of librarianship, and it is something that we are here to do as trusted service professionals in our communities,” said Hohl, Dakota of the Santee Sioux Nation.
The ALA Library Resource Page is maintained by the ALA Library and Information Resource Center.
