Announcing the 2025 Core Forum Keynote Speakers!

CHICAGO—Core is proud to announce our Forum 2025 keynote speakers, Melanie Yazzie and Dr. Casey Fiesler!

Join your colleagues at Core Forum 2025, November 12-14, in Denver, CO, at the Hilton Denver City Center! Reconnect with friends and make new connections while celebrating the intersection and overlap of the core work we do. Learn more about Forum and register for the main event and its preconferences at www.coreforum.org.   Two full days of presentations, interactive panel discussions, and activities are guaranteed to be both thought-provoking and highly relevant to participants’ current and future career paths. Forum engages the collective expertise of presenters and participants, facilitates enriching conversations, and offers unique learning opportunities. Everyone, including non-Core members, is encouraged to register, bring real-life questions, share experiences, and network to learn new perspectives.  


Casey Fiesler

November 13 Opening Keynote: Dr. Casey Fiesler

Casey Fiesler is an Associate Professor of Information Science (and Computer Science by courtesy) at the University of Colorado Boulder. She researches and teaches in the areas of technology ethics, internet law and policy, and online communities. Her work on research ethics for data science, ethics education in computing, and broadening participation in computing has been supported by the National Science Foundation, and she is the recipient of an NSF CAREER Award. Also, as a public scholar, she is a frequent commentator and speaker on topics of technology ethics and policy, and her research has been covered everywhere from The New York Times to Teen Vogue (though she’s particularly proud of her TikTok’s). She holds a PhD in Human-Centered Computing and a JD from Vanderbilt Law School.

Melanie Yazzi

November 14 Opening Keynote: Melanie Yazzie

Melanie Yazzie is Professor of Art Practices and Head of Printmaking at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado. Her works belong to many collections such as the Denver Art Museum, Anchorage Museum of History & Art, the Art Museum of Missoula, the Institute of American Indian Arts, the Kennedy Museum of Art and the Rhode Island School of Design Museum. She has exhibited nationally and internationally and in countries such as, New Zealand, France, Russia, Canada, Estonia, Northern Ireland, Korea, China, United Kingdom, and Australia. She is known for organizing print exchange projects that connect communities across the world. She makes prints, sculptures, paintings, surface design and jewelry design. She has been represented by the Glenn Green Galleries in Santa Fe, New Mexico since 1994.
