Sadie Baldwin Awarded the 2025 Core Christian Larew Memorial Scholarship in Library and Information Technology

CHICAGO—Sadie Baldwin has been selected to receive the 2025 Christian Larew Memorial Scholarship in Library and Information Technology , sponsored by Core: Leadership, Infrastructure, Futures and Baker & Taylor.

This $3,000 scholarship is for master’s level study, with an emphasis on library technology and/or automation, at a library school program accredited by the American Library Association. Criteria for the Scholarship includes previous academic excellence, evidence of leadership potential, and a commitment to a career in library automation and information technology.

The Christian Larew Memorial Scholarship Committee was impressed that, in addition to excelling in her coursework, Sadie brings valuable experience in processing archival materials and working with digitization processes within libraries. One of her references noted, "Sadie is a natural at utilizing technology in working with archival materials."

Sadie is a graduate of The University of California Berkley and majored in history. She currently works at the San Francisco Art Institute Legacy Foundation + Archive where she assists in preserving the Institute’s history by processing archival materials on exhibitions, alumni, and its role in California arts. Sadie conducts arrangement, rehousing, finding aid creation, digitization, and accessibility work.

When notified she had won, Baldwin said, “I am humbled to receive the Christian Larew Memorial Scholarship. This support will help me deepen my expertise in digital archives and metadata, advancing my goal of using technology to broaden library access for underrepresented communities.”
