Jacquelyn Kim Selected as the 2025 Tom and Roberta Drewes Scholarship Recipient
The American Library Association (ALA) is pleased to announce the selection of Jacquelyn Kim of Charlottesville, Virginia as the 2025 Tom and Roberta Drewes Scholarship recipient.
The $3,000 scholarship is awarded to a library support staff worker who is pursuing a master’s degree in library and information science.
Currently, Kim works as an exhibitions coordinator in the special collections library at the University of Virginia. Her goal is to continue working with exhibitions in academic libraries. However, Kim says she is also “excited about the possibility of exploring career paths in archives ─particularly reference and instruction.” Kim further commented that, “as a cultural heritage worker at an academic library, she believes it is important to be an active member of the community she serves because the institutions are inextricable from their surrounding cultural landscapes.” Kim hopes that her library program will help her become more adept at bridging the resource and knowledge gaps between academic libraries (and the institutions of which they are apart) and the communities that surround those institutions.”
Kim will attend Indiana University - Indianapolis.
