Desiree Mallette is the 2025 recipient of the Paul Howard Award for Courage

CHICAGO – The Paul Howard Award for Courage Jury is pleased to announce that Desiree Mallette is the 2025 recipient of the American Library Association (ALA) Paul Howard Award for Courage. The biennial award, consisting of $1,000 and a gold-framed citation, honors individuals who have exhibited courage for the benefit of library programs or services in the face of adversity.
Mallette serves as the Library Paraprofessional at Mosaic Preparatory Academy. Mallette has demonstrated remarkable courage that has greatly benefited the library and the entire school community. Desiree has prioritized her role by consistently supporting her students and treating everyone with the highest level of respect and professionalism.
Mallette ensures that the community exceptional students have access to the books, resources, and supportive environment they require.
Please join us in congratulating Desiree Mallette as the 2025 recipient of the ALA Paul Howard Award for Courage. The award will be presented at the Awards Ceremony at the ALA Annual Conference in Philadelphia, PA.
