Know Any Stellar Library Workers? Time to Nominate Them as Stars!

Even with unstable, volatile work environments, library workers continue to go above and beyond what’s required to meet the needs of library users. Let’s celebrate these amazing stars! Start planning now for National Library Workers Day (NLWD) —Tuesday, April 8, 2025. Recognize the people who make library service possible every day.

National Library Workers’ Day (#NLWD25) is a day for library users, administrators, staff, supporters, and friends to acknowledge the valuable contributions made by those who work in libraries. Libraries and organizations are encouraged to host celebrations and submit names of Stars to honor great workers, teams, or departments. You may submit as many nominations as you like.

Consider giving cool gifts to your staff to let them know they are appreciated. Share your celebration activities by sending photos, news items, etc., to libraryworklife@ala.org.

Held each year on the Tuesday of National Library Week (April 6-12, this year), NLWD was established by the American Library Association’s Allied Professional Association (ALA-APA) for the purpose of acknowledging all library workers, including librarians, support staff and others who make library service possible every day.

Now is the perfect time to plan celebrations to shine a light on library workers everywhere. To learn more about NLWD visit the ALA-APA NLWD page. We can’t wait to see how you recognize your super STARS!
