AASL Opens Call For School Library Research Editorial Board Members

CHICAGO – The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) seeks a dynamic group of school library professionals to serve on the School Library Research (SLR) Editorial Board. School Library Research moves the profession forward by publishing high-quality original research concerning management, implementation, and evaluation of school libraries. “Serving on the School Library Research (SLR) Editorial Board is a vital opportunity to contribute to the advancement of school library scholarship,” said Amanda Kordeliski, AASL president-elect. “Editorial Board members play a critical role in shaping the journal’s direction by identifying emerging research and key findings that impact school libraries. Their leadership helps elevate the visibility and accessibility of original research, ensuring that school librarians have access to the latest insights that inform and enhance professional practice. School Library Research covers all aspects of school librarianship and serves as an essential resource for the growth and development of the field. Members with a passion for school library research are encouraged to apply for this prestigious volunteer opportunity.”

The School Library Research Editorial Board works under the direction of the SLR co-editors to review manuscripts in a timely fashion and ensure the research journal is relevant, current, and meets the needs of AASL’s diverse membership. Members of the editorial board reviews manuscripts and also encourage submissions. They are expected to offer insight and suggestions for additional research areas for coverage and promote the content and value of SLR.

Applications must be received by 11:59 p.m. on April 4. All applicants will be notified of appointment decisions by June 1.
