Core ALA Annual Preconference: Public Library Tours

CHICAGO—Core: Leadership, Infrastructure, Futures will host the full-day tour “Public Library Tours" on Friday, June 28, 2024, during the 2024 ALA Annual Conference & Exhibition in San Diego, CA. Come tour three unique Public libraries in the San Diego area, San Diego Public Library’s Central and San Ysidro branches in the city and San Diego County Library’s Imperial Beach branch in the South Bay region. Library staff and architects will lead the tours and be available for questions, and lunch will be served during the event. Participants will learn how a library can be designed to be flexible for future changes, be designed with sustainable goals to achieve a LEED Gold rating, and be designed to include integrated outdoor areas.
