Social Responsibilities Round Table seeks applications for 2024 SRRT Conference Travel Grant

CHICAGO - The Social Responsibilities Round Table of the American Library Association (SRRT) is pleased to announce the SRRT Conference Travel Grant to help finance up to two SRRT members' attendance at the 2024 ALA Annual Conference in San Diego, CA. The $1000 award covers limited fees related to airfare, lodging, and conference registration.

SRRT members and leaders play a critical role in the efficacy of the round table - the ability to successfully carry out the mission of the task forces, to engage new members, and to run meetings at ALA Annual. As a round table dedicated to social responsibilities, SRRT aims to lead by example. Supporting the attendance of those SRRT members and leaders who cannot afford to attend conference speaks to SRRT's commitment to being all-inclusive, as well as their commitment to the work of the SRRT task forces. In addition, SRRT hopes to recruit members who would like to be involved but may otherwise not participate due to financial reasons.

The selection of grant recipients will rest with the SRRT Conference Travel Grants Selection Committee. Award recipients will be announced publicly in the spring of 2024.

The deadline to apply is January 15, 2024. All applicants will be notified of the Selection Committee's decision by March 1, 2024. Applicants must be ALA/SRRT personal members. Learn more and submit an application.
