Core Webinar: To Hold a Cloud: MARC Holdings in the Modern LMS

CHICAGO–Core hosts the webinar “To Hold a Cloud: MARC Holdings in the Modern LMS” on August 22, 2023, at 1 p.m. CT. Modern Library Management Systems (LMSs) are cloud based. Holdings information may be the only local metadata for print titles and becomes critical for extracting bibliographic information by institution. Yet electronic holdings in LMSs are expressed in knowledgebases. We will discuss how to apply standards for print and electronic holdings interoperably. Learners will be given best practices for encoding accessible records, code to query across standards, and demonstrations of display resulting from different encoding practices.
