Webinar offers in-depth look at PBS LearningMedia™ literacy lessons

CHICAGO — In a new vendor webinar from the American Association of School Librarians (AASL), presenters Carol Studebaker, Charlotte Hodges and Carolyn Jacobs will offer an in-depth look at middle school literacy tools now available from PBS LearningMedia™. The webinar, “PBS LearningMedia™ Launches Blended Literacy Lessons,” will take place at 6 p.m. Central on Tuesday, March 26, 2013. To register, visit www.ala.org/aasl/ecollab/upcoming.

The Inspiring Middle School Literacy collection, produced by WGBH and funded by the Walmart Foundation, is designed to enhance the literacy skills of struggling readers in grades 5–8. Each uses videos, interactive activities, note taking, reading and writing to present students with an engaging science, social studies, mathematics or English language arts topic. Lessons are available at no cost on PBS LearningMedia™website. Those interested can also view a one-minute introduction to the collection.
