Registration closes Feb. 13 for YALSA’s Teen Tech Week™

CHICAGO — It’s your last chance to Geek Out @ your library! Registration for Teen Tech Week, the Young Adult Library Services Association’s annual celebration of digital literacy and technology at the library, closes on Feb. 13 at www.ala.org/teentechweek. Feb. 15 is the last day to order official Teen Tech Week™ products from ALA Graphics and YALSA at www.alastore.ala.org/ttw12 and receive them in time for Teen Tech Week.

Registrants receive the following benefits:

• A recording of a webinar on STEM.
• A recording of a webinar on gamification, featuring Joe Murphy and Linda Braun, sponsored by TTW Partner Tutor.com. Ninety-six registrants will have the opportunity to participate in the live webinar on Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. Eastern; registrants will receive a registration link via email and the recording will be sent out during Teen Tech Week.
• One registrant will win a Skype session with author JJ Johnson in a random drawing, courtesy of TTW Partner Peachtree Publishers.
• All registrants will be mailed a Technology Resource Pack, including bookmarks featuring YALSA's Amazing Audiobooks for Young Adults and a Social Networking for Teens brochure. The resource packs are designed to help you extend Teen Tech Week throughout the year and may not arrive by Teen Tech Week.

Teen Tech Week is March 4-10, 2012, with a theme of Geek Out @ your library, encouraging teens to take advantage of the many technologies available to them, free of charge, at their libraries.

Teen Tech Week is a national initiative sponsored by the Young Adult Library Services Association and is aimed at teens, their parents, educators and other concerned adults. The purpose of the initiative is to ensure that teens are competent and ethical users of technologies, especially those that are offered through libraries such as DVDs, databases, audiobooks and videogames.

Teen Tech Week partners are ALA Graphics, Audio Publishers Association, AudioGO, Figment.com, Hackasaurus, Peachtree Publishers, and Tutor.com.
