Learn about board governance and development for Trustees, Friends and Foundations at ALA Annual Conference
PHILADELPHIA — The Association of Library Trustees, Advocates, Friends and Foundations (ALTAFF), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), will host “Board Governance & Development for Library Trustees, Friends and Foundations” from 10:30 a.m. to noon PDT at the Anaheim Convention Center, 209A, on Monday, June 25 at the 2012 ALA Annual Conference in Anaheim, Calif.
Join this panel discussion to learn about board development, succession planning and board governance for trustees, friends and foundations. Topics will include purposeful board recruiting, Friends board development and conflicts of interest. A question-and-answer session will follow so that attendees can ask questions specific to their boards of trustees, friends of the library, foundation board, etc.
Panelists will include Sally Gardner Reed, executive director of ALTAFF; Kathy Gould, director of the Palos Verdes (Calif.) Library District; Jane Jones, past Trustee and current president of the Peninsula Friends of the Library (Palos Verdes, Calif.), and Debbie Sinclair, president of the Friends of the Aliso Viejo (Calif.) Library.
