Big-name authors join Booklist editors for ALA 2011 Annual Virtual Conference, July 13-14

CHICAGO - Two-time Pulitzer Prize-winner David McCullough and two-time National Book Award recipient Jean Thompson have signed on to be interviewed by Booklist editors Brad Hooper and Donna Seaman as part of ALA’s second Annual Virtual Conference, July 13 and 14.

There’s still time to register for the two full days of interactive online professional development and presentations--the ALA Virtual Conference offers one of the most cost-effective options of the year in library continuing education.

  • 11 interactive one-hour Web sessions on transformation in libraries of all types
  • Daily keynote speakers (danah boyd, July 13, David Lankes, July 14)
  • Author Talks with David McCullough (July 13) and Jean Thompson (July 14), moderated by Booklist editors
  • Creative and practical solutions as you interact with speakers and fellow attendees

Registration for the Virtual Conference is $69 (individual registration) or $300 for up to 15 IP addresses for sharing among employees, branches and departments. The cost of registration includes access to the archive after the event itself.

And as a bonus for ALA Annual Conference 2011 full registrants, they receive free access to the archive whether or not they sign up for the Virtual Conference itself. (Instructions for access will be sent to all ALA Annual 2011 full registrants as soon as the archive is available.)

Registration information, complete schedule, and information on speakers and presenters is available on the ALA Virtual Conference website.
