Core Webinar: Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Strategies in Metadata and Cataloging: An Exploration of Strategies and Discussions

CHICAGO–Join Core on October 26, 2022, at 1 p.m. CT, for the webinar “Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Strategies in Metadata and Cataloging: An Exploration of Strategies and Discussions.” With a primary intended audience of Metadata and Cataloging librarians, this webinar aims to explore, analyze, and understand EDI techniques in librarianship and how they can be added or addressed in the audience's collections, and its presenters hope to create networking opportunities among various library staff who attend or contribute to the current conversation. The presenters will lead participants through an investigation of what EDI is and why it is essential to this field of librarianship then explore a brief historical timeline that shaped the events of EDI in metadata and cataloging. After exploring its origins, the presenters and attendees will examine the strategies other academic institutions have formulated, focusing on the work of the presenters with the digital collections at Clemson University.
