Improve Your Online Instruction through Assessment
CHICAGO- Register today for the upcoming Four-week eCourse beginning on Monday, March 1, 2021 "Assessment of Online Library Instruction" offered by the Reference and User Services Division (RUSA).
This course, designed for library instructors in Academic, K-12 or public libraries who conduct instruction or create library instruction videos for asynchronous or synchronous library instruction, will provide learners with the tools and resources to effectively create assessment tools for online instruction. It will focus on identifying online tools to effectively conduct assessment as well as tools for creating effective assessment questions and critiques of library instructional videos to maximize the quality of online library instruction for each learner.
The course will provide patrons with the theoretical and practical tools and resources needed to conduct quality assessment. Students will receive one week of training for each of the following topics: Creating effective anecdotal assessment tools for faculty and students of asynchronous/synchronous library sessions; Using online tools for assessment; Creating effective assessment questions for online "one-shots" and; Assessing library instructional videos for asynchronous sessions.
The instructor, Anthony Bishop, is an academic librarian faculty member with ten years of experience as a Reference and Instructional Librarian. He also has more than fie years of experiences as an instructor of College English Composition I and II, Business Writing, and Public Speaking. Prof. Bishop has created assessment for online library instruction for a variety of courses including Nursing, English Comp, Criminal Justice, Business and Public Speaking. He is currently completing a Doctrine in E-Learning.
