Mark your calendars for 2020 Fall virtual ALA Council meetings
CHICAGO – This Fall, you can have a front row seat as the American Library Association (ALA) Council discusses issues that will have long-range impact on the association.
ALA Council will hold the first of its two Fall virtual council meetings on Friday, Sept. 18. The meeting, which lasts from noon – 2 p.m. Central time, can be accessed by visiting https://ala-events.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_hLDri4bCQeebXYyawiivgw .
The initial meeting will focus on budget updates and approval of the annual estimates of income for the association.
The following meeting will concentrate on updates from the Forward Together Working Group and will be held from 2 – 4 p.m. Central on Nov. 5. The meeting can be accessed by visiting https://ala-events.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_tWVQngEDTn-QB242jBilDw .
No resolutions will be submitted from either of these meetings.
ALA Council meetings are open to all ALA members, who can register as an observer. Attending ALA Council meetings is one way to gain a deeper understanding of the issues and discussions happening around the association. It also provides the opportunity to view elected member leaders at work. This is a pivotal period of ALA’s history – save your seat today.
