Mr. Debus-López served twice as President of the Federal and Armed Forces Libraries Round Table (FAFLRT) in 2010-2011 and 2016-2017. He was instrumental in the merger of FAFLRT and ASCLA to form the new Association of Specialized, Government and Cooperative Library Agencies (ASGCLA), and he is a founding member of the Federal and Armed Forces Libraries Interest Group (FAFLIG). Mr. Debus-López retired on June 30, 2020, but he will remain active in ALA.

ASGCLA thanks COSLA, the Chief Officers of State Library Agencies, for supporting the 2020 Awards program. The Association for Specialized Government and Cooperative Library Agencies (ASGCLA), https://asgcladirect.org/ has been the premiere destination for ALA members to find information and build capacity to serve populations that are served by state library agencies, federal and armed forces libraries, libraries serving underserved populations, library cooperatives and library consultants. ASGCLA enhances the effectiveness of library service by advocating for and providing high quality networking, enrichment and educational opportunities for its diverse members.
