Phyllis Magady chosen as recipient of YALSA’s 2020 Baker & Taylor Conference Travel Grant
CHICAGO — The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) has selected Phyllis Magady, Teen Coordinator at the Muskogee (Oklahoma) Public Library, as the recipient of its 2020 Baker & Taylor Conference Travel Grant.
“I'm excited to attend my first ALA Conference and appreciate Baker & Taylor for providing the grant that makes it possible,” said Magady. “I look forward to learning about new ideas for programming and new approaches to expand services for teens in and around Muskogee.”
Magady will receive a $1,000 travel stipend to attend ALA Annual 2020. The Baker and Taylor Conference Travel Grant is awarded annually to librarians who work with or for young adults to enable them to attend the Annual Conference for the first time.
The application form for the Baker & Taylor Conference Travel Grant is available in the Grants and Awards section of the YALSA website. Applications must be received by Dec. 1, 2020.
The Baker & Taylor Conference Travel Grant Jury members are: Chair Rachel Kercher, Leach Public Library, Wahpeton, ND; Rachel Adams, Seattle, WA; Leslie Flynn, Austin Public Library, Austin, TX; Katherine Mowery, Fox Lake District Library; and Emily Townsend, Madison, WI.
