United for Libraries to host Institute for Friends, Foundations, and Trustees at Midwinter

BRYN MAWR, Pennsylvania — A free “United for Libraries Institute: Friends, Foundations, and Trustees” will be held Friday, Feb. 9, 1-4 p.m., at the Colorado Convention Center 107/109/11 at the 2018 ALA Midwinter Meeting in Denver.

Library Trustees, Friends groups, Foundations, and staff are invited to join a free afternoon of expert speakers and learning opportunities. Miguel Figueroa of ALA’s Center for the Future of Libraries will deliver the keynote on “Friends, Foundations, Trustees, and the Future of Libraries.”

Concurrent breakout sessions will be:

  • “Moving Forward with Your Trustees: Using Trends in Your Strategic Planning”

    Jessica Keyser, Executive Director, Grosse Point (Mich.) Public Library
  • “The Millennial Mindset: How Friends and Foundations Can Reach Millennials”

  • “Surviving and Thriving in the Deeply Weird World”

    Peter Bromberg, Executive Director, Salt Lake City (Utah) Public Library
  • “Fundraising: The More it Changes, The More it Stays the Same”
