Learn the ‘Fine’ art of building library relationships at the 2016 PR Forum during ALA Annual Conference
CHICAGO – Every conversation is an opportunity for success. But success in conversation requires practice – and the more you practice, the easier it gets. That is the view of author and internationally recognized keynote speaker Debra Fine, who has focused on the lively art and technique of conversation in several bestselling books.
Fine will share her views with communicators and apply them to a library context at the 2016 PR Forum, which takes place 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 26, in Room S329 of the Orange County Convention Center during the American Library Association Annual Conference & Exhibition in Orlando, Florida.
Join Fine as she offers her fast-paced, interactive and entertaining presentation The Fine Art of Building Library Relationships. You will laugh, learn and leave with insightful and informative tips and tools for cultivating and connecting with patrons as well as increasing library visibility in the community at large. Learn how to turn every interaction into an opportunity for success.
Fine understands the challenges faced by those who dread meeting new people and engaging in small talk. A formerly shy and tongue-tied engineer, she tackled the art of conversation with the same commitment she once applied to the science of engineering.
Over the years, she has penned such bestselling books as “The Fine Art of Small Talk: How to Start a Conversation,” “Keep It Going, Build Networking Skills—and Leave a Positive Impression” (Hachette) and “The Fine Art of the Big Talk” (Hachette), along with her just released third in the Fine Art series: “Beyond Texting: The Fine Art of Face to Face Communication for Teenagers” (Canon).
A 20+ year member of the National Speakers Association, Fine presents keynotes and training programs to hundreds of audiences around the world that include Google, Delta Airlines, Hyatt Hotels, KPMG, General Electric, and NASA. Her books are translated and published in two dozen countries across the globe. A regular Huffington Post blogger Fine's recent media appearances include The Today Show, the Early Show, NPR Morning Edition, Fox Business News and CNN. The annual PR Forum, one of the most anticipated programs about library public relations and marketing at the ALA Annual Conference, is coordinated by the ALA Public Awareness Committee.
