Libraries Transform™ sessions at 2016 Book Expo America
Under the umbrella of the Libraries Transform™ campaign, Libraries Transform: ALA@BEA offers three extra programs on the Book Expo America Content & Digital Conference Library Insight Track, on Thursday, May 12, 9am-12pm at McCormick Place West in Chicago. The content, focusing on library transformation and what libraries do for and with people, is set to include: Embrace the Innovative Future of Readers’ Advisory (with Booklist participation); Nurture Local Writers at Your Library!; and Publisher Marketing Teams Helping You Help Readers. These sessions also offer a taste of the topics and issues librarians and others will find at ALA Annual Conference.
Additional opportunities at BEA for publishers and librarians to connect on Librarian Day include the usual booths in the exhibits (including ALA, Booklist, and United for Libraries), the Librarians’ Lounge, and the AAP Annual Librarians Book Buzz. Check for details and register at bookexpoamerica.com. Use the special promotional code for librarians, LTBEA, to receive a $20 discount off the Early Bird rate (through April 26) for a 3-Day BEA Pass.
The Libraries Transform Campaign, an initiative of the American Library Association (ALA), is designed to increase public awareness of the value, impact and services provided by libraries and library professionals. The campaign showcases the transformative nature of today’s libraries and elevates the critical role libraries play in the digital age. Libraries Transform: ALA@BEA programming is sponsored by Libraries Transform™ and Overdrive, Inc.
