Apply now for YALSA’s 2016 Symposium Travel Stipend
CHICAGO – Any individual interested in attending the Young Adult Library Services Association’s (YALSA) 2016 Young Adult Services Symposium, taking place in Pittsburgh, PA, Nov. 4-6, 2016 can now apply for a travel stipend to offset travel expenses.
Two travel stipends, both worth up to $1000 each, are available. One travel stipend will be awarded to a student member, while the other will be awarded to a library worker. Apply by June 1, 2016.
The 2016 YA Services Symposium will take place at the Westin Convention Center, Pittsburgh with a theme of: Empowering Teens to Increase your Library’s Impact. Approximately 500 library workers, researchers, educators, youth advocates and others will come together to explore best practices in designing youth participation opportunities, how empowering teens through libraries address such issues as equity and inclusion, what knowledge and skills library staff need in order to actively engage teens of all backgrounds in youth-driven services and programs, and more.
