Thousands to join free ALA Youth Media Awards webcast
CHICAGO — The American Library Association (ALA) will unveil the next classics in children’s and young adult literature and media during the ALA Youth Media Awards at 8 a.m. ET on Jan. 11, 20l6, from the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. Unlimited virtual seats for the ALA Youth Media Awards webcast will be available at http://ala.unikron.com/2016/ the morning of the announcements, as virtual visitors will join more than 2,000 onsite audience members. The announcements are part of the ALA Midwinter Meeting & Exhibits taking place in Boston from Jan. 8 - 12, 2016.
Each year the ALA honors books, videos and other outstanding materials for children and teens. Recognized worldwide for the high quality they represent, the ALA Youth Media Awards, including the prestigious, Coretta Scott King Book, Caldecott, Newbery and Printz Awards, guide parents, educators, librarians and others in selecting the best materials for youth. Selected by committees composed of librarians and other literature and media experts, the awards encourage original and creative work in the field of children’s and young adult literature and media.
