Hannah Buckland named 2015 ALCTS Emerging Leader
CHICAGO — Hannah Buckland, director of library services at Leech Lake Tribal College, Cass Lake, Minnesota, has been selected as the Association for Library Collections and Technical Services (ALCTS) sponsored Emerging Leader for 2014-2015. The Association for Library Collections & Technical Services, ALCTS, sponsors one Emerging Leader who has chosen collections and technical services as a career and is a member of ALCTS
In her current position as the solo librarian, Buckland manages all aspects of the library. In her role she is overseeing the final stages of the construction of a new library building and managing the transition to a new ILS. She has held positions Eureka College, Eureka, Ill. as a technical services librarian and coordinator of copyright and fair use and as a Pitt Partners Intern in the Finney Music Library at the University of Pittsburgh.
Hannah is a member of ALCTS, having served as the ALCTS liaison to the ALA New Members Round Table. She is currently a member of the ALCTS Publications Committee. She has served in a variety of positions in the New Members Round Table. She is also active in PALS, a Minnesota consortium of libraries, the Minnesota Library Association and more recently the Tribal College and University Library Association.
Hannah is an active community member playing oboe in her local concert band.
She received her undergraduate degree in creative writing from Knox College, Galesburg, Ill. and her M.L.I.S. from the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh.
After her year in the Emerging Leader Program, Hannah will serve a one year term as intern to the ALCTS Board of Directors.
ALCTS is a division of the American Library Association.
