YALSA appoints Denise Agosto editor of the Journal of Research on Libraries and Young Adults
CHICAGO — The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), a division of the American Library Association, named Denise E. Agosto, Ph.D., associate professor in the College of Information Science & Technology at Drexel University, as the editor of the Journal of Research on Libraries and Young Adults.
“I'm looking forward to serving as editor of JRLYA. As editor, I hope to work with new researchers interested in conducting research in library and academic settings, as well as with more seasoned researchers,” Agosto said. “I will work to encourage new studies with and about teens and their information resources, as well as to publicize reports of ongoing studies of likely interest YALSA members, always with the longer term goal of bringing research and practice together to make library services better support teens' needs and interests.”
Agosto currently sits on the journal’s editorial advisory board and is the chair of the 2013-2014 Teen Tech Week Evaluation Taskforce. She recently co-edited "Urban Teens in the Library: Research and Practice" (ALA Editions, 2010) and "Teens, Libraries, and Social Networking: What Librarians Need to Know" (Libraries Unlimited, 2011).
The Journal of Research on Libraries and Young Adults is an open source, peer reviewed online research journal, disseminating research related to YALSA’s Research Agenda. It serves as the official research publication of the association, publishing annotated lists of recent research from YALSA’s Research Committee, Henne Award–winning research and original research on topics of interest to those in the field of young adult librarianship.
