Glennan has served as liaison to the CaMMS Committee on Cataloging: Description and Access (CC:DA) from the Music Library Association, then as a voting member, and now again as representative from the Program for Cooperative Cataloging. Before her work at the University of Maryland, Glennan held positions at the University of Southern California. She received her M.L.S. in 1985 from the Graduate School of Library and Information Science, at UCLA and her B.A. with Distinction in Music in 1982 from Swarthmore College, in Pennsylvania where she was a Phi Beta Kappa honoree.
