YALSA appoints Linda W. Braun editor of Young Adult Library Services
CHICAGO — The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), a division of the American Library Association, named Linda W. Braun as the member editor of Young Adult Library Services (YALS).
“I'm thrilled that Linda Braun will be our new YALS editor, YALSA President Jack Martin said. “Not only does she have the experience as a past president of our association, but she's a well-connected educator who always has her finger on the pulse of what's new and exciting in the world of library services for and with teens.”
Braun replaces Megan Honig, who stepped down from the editor position earlier this year. Among Braun’s accomplishments are her recently published book, "Being a Teen Library Services Advocate," her past service to YALSA as president in 2009-2010 and receiving the WISE Excellence in Online Teaching Award.
“I'm honored I was selected for this position and am excited about the chance to work with members of the YALSA community on the association's award winning journal,” Braun said. “I plan to talk with lots of YALSA members and others in educational fields to find the best topics and authors to pen content for YALS. Through the work of past editors, YALS has become known for its high-quality content and I'm looking forward to continuing that trend and working with the YALS Advisory Board on ramping up the journal's online presence.”
Young Adult Library Services is an award-winning quarterly journal from YALSA that includes articles of current interest to the profession, showcases best practices, provides news from related fields, spotlights significant events and offers in-depth reviews of professional literature.
