ALSC offers special Caldecott 75th Anniversary deal

CHICAGO — In honor of the 75th anniversary of the Caldecott Medal, the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) is offering a free mock elections archived webinar for anyone who purchases the Newbery and Caldecott Mock Elections Tool Kit digital download.

Individuals who purchase the Newbery and Caldecott Mock Elections Tool Kit digital download presented by ALSC, revisions by Steven Engelfried, receive free access to an archived, prerecorded Mock Elections webinar, hosted by Steven Engelfried, current chair of the Newbery Award Selection Committee. Individuals must purchase the digital download in September, October or November 2012 to receive access to this archived webinar. The Newbery and Caldecott Mock Elections Tool Kit digital download can be purchased through the ALA Store.

This authoritative tool kit provides expert guidance on election program planning; tips for conducting successful book discussions; print-ready, customizable planning tools and program handouts; full-color Caldecott-winning art, demonstrating artistic media, styles and elements; and much more. You’ll find just about everything needed to plan and execute stellar mock elections in your community. The 2011 edition was revised by Steven Engelfried, Wilsonville (Ore.) Public Library, and includes many new features and content additions. The original print publication was written (1994) and revised (2001) for ALSC by Kathleen Simonetta, Nancy Hackett, and Linda Ward-Callaghan.
