ProgrammingLibrarian.org accepting submissions for 2013 editorial calendar

CHICAGO — ProgrammingLibrarian.org, a resource website of the American Library Association (ALA) Public Programs Office, invites programming librarians from public, academic, school and special libraries of all sizes to submit proposals for articles and webinars to be included in the 2013 editorial calendar. Proposals will be reviewed on an ongoing basis through Sept. 14. For more information, or to submit a proposal, visit www.programminglibrarian.org/beacontributor.

Following a recent survey of ProgrammingLibrarian.org readers and subscribers, the ALA Public Programs Office prioritized the following topics for inclusion in upcoming feature articles and webinars. Submissions that address one or several of these topics are encouraged:

• low-cost and no-cost programs;
• audience-specific (seniors and Baby Boomers, Generations X and Y, intergenerational and specific ethnic groups) programs;
• themed programs;
• partnerships and collaboration; and
• marketing and promotion.

Feature articles on ProgrammingLibrarian.org typically cover broader, more general programming topics (copyright, funding, planning, resources, etc.) in 1,000 words or more. Webinars consist of a one-hour presentation, delivered by one or more speakers through Adobe Connect.
