RUSA Awards Reception at ALA Annual Conference honors top professionals and projects in reference and adult library services
CHICAGO — Celebrate this year’s winners of the Reference and User Services Association’s (RUSA) achievement awards in adult reference and library services at the RUSA Awards Reception and Volunteer Appreciation Party, which will be held from 5 - 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 30 at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place, Prairie Room.
Each year RUSA’s award committees review dozens of worthy nominations and proposals for some of the profession’s most coveted awards. Nearly two dozen awards, including the Isadore Gilbert Mudge Award, RUSA’s highest honor recognizing distinguished contributions to the field of reference librarianship, will be presented to honor this year’s most outstanding reference services professionals and their efforts to provide exemplary services to their patrons in the changing information landscape. Get event details in the Conference Scheduler, and add the reception to your conference schedule.
“As a long-standing RUSA tradition, the awards ceremony honors professional leadership, while recognizing the infinite achievements of the RUSA community. This celebration not only salutes RUSA’s leadership in the profession, but also provides the opportunity to pass the reins onto the next group of distinguished leaders,” said RUSA President Mary Popp.
The winners of the 2013 awards were previously announced this spring. Visit the RUSA website or the RUSA blog for more information about each award and the winning recipients. The nomination period for 2014 awards will open in September 2014.
