Office for Diversity accepting nominations for Achievement in Library Diversity Research
CHICAGO - As part of its ongoing support of the propagation of library-based diversity research, the ALA Office for Diversity is seeking nominations for the 2012 Achievement in Library Diversity Research honor.
The Achievement in Library Diversity Research recognizes ALA members for their contributions to the profession through research on diversity issues within library and information science.
Nominations may be submitted to diversity@ala.org and should include the name of the individual nominated, contact information for that person and a short description of their diversity research accomplishments. Nominations received prior to April 1 each year will be considered. Self-nominations are accepted.
Nominations will be evaluated by a jury of ALA members appointed by the Diversity Research Grants Advisory Committee and will focus on nominees’ publications and research, service to the profession and professional achievement.
The selected individual will be announced at the 2012 ALA Annual Conference and will be honored by the ALA Council Committee on Diversity, the Diversity Research Grants Advisory Committee and the ALA Office for Diversity at the DiversiTea during the 2013 ALA Midwinter Meeting.
