Mapping Transformation—Program proposals accepted through March 25 for Virtual Conference
Do you have a creative approach to share? Did you enhance an existing service? Have you launched a new project that has transformed service at your library?
We’re looking for dynamic presenters to move the needle forward for the profession. If that’s you, this is your chance to inspire others by submitting a proposal to present at the 2012 ALA Virtual Conference. Topic areas include:
- Community Relationships
- Customer & User Expectations
- E-Book & Collections
- Library Workforce
- Library Leadership Expectations – Staff and Boards
- Physical Space
- Services
- Teaching & Learning
- Virtual Space
The 2012 ALA Virtual Conference will focus on these types of important issues for “Mapping Transformation” on July 18-19, 2012, and you can be part of it. Submit your proposal for an engaging 45-minute program before midnight on March 25, 2012.
This year’s Virtual Conference will feature a full series of interactive virtual sessions that will provide insights from experts, offer opportunities for conversation around key issues related to transforming libraries, and highlight innovations you can take back to your own library. Each day will include keynote speakers, sessions, and--back by popular demand--30-minute author lunches hosted by Booklist editors Brad Hooper and Donna Seaman.
This opportunity for professional development is ideal for those who can’t attend Annual Conference as well as those who are ready for more.
As in previous years, the archive of ALA Virtual Conference will be available free to full registrants of ALA Annual Conference. However, to take full advantage of the interactivity and conversations, and to make the most of one of the best bargains in continuing education in the library world today, we recommend you register for the live Virtual Conference.
Registration information will be available in early April and will include an affordable group option as well as a special registration price for Annual Conference full registrants. For questions in the meantime, contact us at virtual@ala.org.
