Manage teen behavior at your library with YALSA’s April webinar

CHICAGO — When teens flood into the library, anything can happen. But chaos needn’t reign in your teen space. By setting the right tone with regulars, establishing appropriate boundaries, and equitably addressing problem behaviors, you can create a teen space that is consistently welcoming using strategies from Managing the Swarm, YALSA’s April 19 webinar, which will take place at 2 p.m. EDT and be led by Erin Downey Howerton.

Webinar attendees will learn how to create a dialogue with patrons who engage in distracting or dangerous behavior in the library, address concerns of adult patrons and create rewards for teens who improve or maintain a positive presence in your space.

This webinar will address 3 areas of the YALSA Competencies:

  • Knowledge of Client Group;
  • Knowledge of Materials;
  • and Administration.

Register today at! Registration costs $29 for students, $39 for individual YALSA members, $49 for all other individuals, and $195 for group registrations. YALSA’s group rate applies to a group of people that will watch the webinar together in one location.
