Join The Hub for the first Best of the Best Reading Challenge

CHICAGO — The Hub, the teen literature blog published by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) will host the Best of the Best Reading Challenge beginning April 1 and running for three months. Participants will be challenged to read as many titles as they can from YALSA’s 2012 award winners and honor books and selected list Top Tens (including Amazing Audiobooks, Best Fiction for Young Adults, Great Graphic Novels, Popular Paperbacks, and Quick Picks) through July 1.

Everyone who completes the challenge by reading 25 Best of the Best titles will have the opportunity to create a response to their favorite book from the challenge, which will be posted on The Hub. One person will be randomly selected to win a tote bag full of teen books from YALSA (and library industry winners will receive a few professional development titles as well). The contest is not limited to YALSA members or library staff — readers of YA literature of all ages are eligible to participate.

YALSA will be posting badges and other materials for challenge participants to use.

Keep an eye on The Hub for more details as April 1 draws closer.
