Attend PLA's upcoming webinar and bring civility back into your community

CHICAGO – At 1 p.m. CDT on Mar. 28, the Public Library Association (PLA) will host a live, hour-long webinar, “Implementing ‘Choose Civility,’ a Community-Wide Campaign” as part of PLA’s “Public Libraries at Work” monthly webinar series.

Join presenter Valerie Gross, CEO of the Howard County Library System (HCLS) in Maryland to hear how the library system has been at the center of a community campaign to enhance respect, empathy, consideration and tolerance. Attend the webinar to learn about the growing movement, the benefits to your library and community and how to form a Choose Civility Chapter in your area. Gross will be joined by Christie P. Lassen, HCLS’ director of Public Relations, and Ellen Flynn Giles, a member of the Howard County Board of Education and Friends of Howard County Library Board of Directors.

The cost to attend “Implementing ‘Choose Civility,’ a Community-Wide Campaign” is $28 (PLA Members), $31.50 (ALA Members) and $35 (Nonmembers). Groups of any size can register for $129. The deadline to register is 4:30 p.m. CDT on Mar. 26.
