ALA announces slate of petition Council candidates
CHICAGO - The American Library Association (ALA) announces the following individuals will be running as petition candidates for positions on the ALA Council:

Individuals wishing to appear on a ballot as a petition candidate must complete a petition form with the signatures of no fewer than 25 ALA current personal members. The deadline for filing petitions for the 2012 ballot was February 2.
The 2012 ALA election will open at 9 a.m. Central Time on March 19, 2012 and will close on Friday, April 27 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time.
