RUSA webinar prepares you to enhance library services with screencasting tools
CHICAGO — The next offering of the popular webinar “Introduction to Screencasting for Online Tutorials and Reference” will take place from 1 - 2:30 p.m. CST on Friday, Dec. 16.
This 90-minute webinar, which is hosted by the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA), will introduce the screencasting tools and best practices for creating online videos for training, instruction or reference. Screencasting is a powerful tool for virtual reference and informal communications, and this webinar will demonstrate the most popular software used for screencasting; how screencasting can be applied for effective virtual reference and some key pedagogical factors that help create effective streaming tutorials. Participants will have an opportunity for Q&A at the end of the presentation.
Van Houlson, librarian in the Social Sciences and Professional Programs at the University of Minnesota, William Breitbach, information and instruction services unit head at Fullerton Pollak Library, California State University, and Maribeth Slebodnik, biomedical sciences information specialist and assistant professor of library sciences at Purdue University, will present during this session.
