Free webinar provides info on successfully implementing a statewide Library Snapshot Day in 2012
CHICAGO – ALA will offer a free webinar on organizing Library Snapshot Day from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. CST on Monday, Dec. 19, 2011. Webinar attendees will learn how to implement this event on a statewide level, as well as get ideas for using photos, statistics and stories to make the case to decision-makers.
Library Snapshot Day is an initiative that provides library staff with a simple means to show the value of the library by capturing what happens in a single day in all types of libraries. Attendees will learn more about how ALA will be gathering statistics from around the country in order to compile a national “snapshot” for 2012.
The webinar will focus on two snapshot days, Washington Library Snapshot Day and Snapshot Day: A Day in the Life of Ohio Libraries that occurred earlier this year. Ashlee Clark, executive secretary to the state librarian, State Library of Ohio, Marsha McDevitt-Stredney, marketing and communications director, State Library of Ohio, and Craig Seasholes, president, Washington Library Media Association, will present the session.
The webinar is sponsored by The ALA Committee on Library Advocacy and co-sponsored by the ALA Chapter Relations Office and the Association of Specialized and Cooperative Library Agencies (ASCLA).
Registration is mandatory. Visit https://ala.ilinc.com/register/zwkxmzh to sign up today.
