Enter Your Best Choice contest, win a trip to ALA Annual

MIDDLETOWN, CONN. — Choice, a publishing unit of the Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL), recently announced the launch of its Your Best Choice contest, a call for ideas on how Choice can provide new products and/or services for the academic library community. The winner will receive airfare, accommodations and registration to the 2015 ALA Annual Conference in San Francisco.

The goal of the contest is to solicit innovative and forward-thinking ideas for how Choice can contribute to information discovery, access, evaluation, retrieval and use by librarians, educators and students. In 1,000 words or less, submitted essays should address:

  • the goal of the service;

  • its intended audience;

  • how it works/what it does;

  • its benefit to the university community.

“At Choice, we are constantly striving to meet the changing needs of the academic library market we serve,” said Choice Editor and Publisher Mark Cummings. “We conceived of Your Best Choice as a fun and effective way to gather real ideas for how we can provide new offerings to meet those needs in the near future. We’re looking forward to receiving lots of intriguing submissions, and our panel of judges will no doubt have a tough time choosing a winner.”

Contest submissions will be accepted from Nov. 1, 2014 to Feb. 27, 2015, and a winner will be announced in early April 2015. For more information, complete contest rules and to enter, please visit the Your Best Choice contest page on the Choice website.
