AASL National Conference concurrent sessions offer something for everyone
CHICAGO – No matter what stage of their career, attendees of the AASL 15th National Conference and Exhibition will find concurrent sessions to meet their needs! The conference, taking place Oct. 27-30 in Minneapolis, will feature more than 100 concurrent sessions designed to help attendees elevate both themselves as leaders and their library programs. A complete listing of concurrent sessions is available on the conference website at www.aasl11.org/programs/concurrents.
National Conference concurrent sessions are specially chosen to help attendees “turn the page” in their careers. Sessions focus on helping school librarians implement the AASL learning standards and program guidelines, raising the level of learning in school library programs and addressing the needs of a new generation of students. Some of the exciting topics include e-book technology and best practices, managing effectively collaborating with different stakeholders and instilling a love for reading in students, K-12.
“Attendees will see the best minds in our field sharing their ideas and best practices,” said Carl Harvey, AASL president. “Be ready on Monday morning when you return to school to share with your administrators, teachers, and students all of the new things you have learned!”
The AASL 15th National Conference and Exhibition, "Turning the Page," is the only national conference dedicated solely to the needs of school librarians and their roles as educational leaders. Taking place in Oct. 27-30 in Minneapolis, the AASL National Conference will feature preconferences, numerous concurrent sessions, more than 200 exhibiting companies, educational and school tours, a storytelling festival and special appearances by award-winning authors. The deadline for "early bird" discounted registration is August 4. For more information or to register, visit www.aasl11.org.
The American Association of School Librarians, www.aasl.org, a division of the American Library Association (ALA), promotes the improvement and extension of library services in elementary and secondary schools as a means of strengthening the total education program.
