Comedian, actress and author Molly Shannon to keynote Annual Conference Closing General Session
CHICAGO - The American Library Association (ALA) welcomes Molly Shannon from 9 a.m. - 10 a.m. CDT on Tuesday, June 28th as the speaker for the Closing General Session at the ALA Annual Conference in New Orleans.
Shannon, whose debut children’s book “Tilly the Trickster” will be published in September 2011, is one of the most recognizable female comedic actresses in entertainment through her work on television and in films.
The Emmy-nominated actress is known for portraying exuberant characters and became famous for her roles on “Saturday Night Live.” She has appeared in numerous hit movies, including “Superstar” and “Never Been Kissed,” and has been featured on top-rated television shows, including “Glee,” “30 Rock,” “Scrubs,” “Seinfeld,” “Will & Grace” and “The New Adventures of Old Christine.”
This year’s closing session is sponsored by Abrams Book for Young Readers.
