ALA joins the Combined Federal Campaign

CHICAGO - The American Library Association (ALA) has joined the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) as a member charity of the Independent Charities of America and Educate America! The Education, School Support and Scholarship Funds Coalition.

This new opportunity enables ALA to strengthen its bonds with federal workers dedicated to improving librarianship, library services and access to information for all, as well as enhancing the close relationship libraries have with government agencies and state and federal employees.

All federal, military and postal workers can now give directly from their paychecks to ALA through participation in the CFC.

According to the most recent official statistics from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), the CFC generated $273 million in charitable funds in 2007 alone. Federal employees can donate to ALA via the Combined Federal Campaign by completing a simple campaign pledge form and note ALA’s dedicated CFC Agency Code: 13085. To view a sample pledge card and ALA’s profile, visit www.bestcfc.org and look for ALA under the category Education Support and Scholarship Charities.
