Cleary’s Ramona welcomes everyone to the library

CHICAGO—ALA Graphics will debut the Ramona and Friends Poster and Bookmark in the upcoming Fall 2010 Catalog. The original artwork by Tracy Dockray illustrates many of award-winning author Beverly Cleary’s most beloved characters at the library. Since 1950 Cleary, named a "Living Legend" by the Library of Congress, has ignited a love for reading. Her own experience as a library patron and avid reader transcends more than 40 books that celebrate imagination and the adventure of growing up.

On July 23 "Ramona and Beezus," the movie adaptation of Cleary’s work, starring Selena Gomez and Joey King, hits screens. This production will bring Ramona and other Cleary characters to life for a new generation of young readers.
